There are many times when sports imitates life! The young man in the above video made a mistake of rage in an effort to express himself. Whether provoked or not is not the question! Right or wrong is not the question! The question of the hour is that public opinion of what was seen, and the ramifications of the perception that was captured in the snapshot of a moment in time that stood still.
A frozen moment in a person's life can forever lay the framework of how they are perceived from that point forward! In the age of people judging with their own opinion's eye, people fail to realize the ramifications of stirring a view, or a skew of what the truth is. People in life make mistakes! God was forsaken by his own disciples countless times! God knew they were going to forsake him!
Yet and still religious people, society, and public opinion always take a front seat to the peril and ill's of the world. We are quick to become a part of the gallery, never apart of the paintbrush that looks to rectify the painting. Many times the picture gets smeared by what people feel is right.
When you make a mistake no way are you going to change! Reform is not possible! God can’t change your heart? The mob's comments are all heard in one central voice, once a mistake always a problem! Throw rocks and kill em with public ridicule!
They hated on Mike Vick, society always wants people to succeed, but those same people are at the bonfire of rejection to skewer those same people they tried to lift! In life whether on the field of play, or the field of play, choices are made, right or wrong is subject to change. What was right today is wrong tomorrow with the court of public opinion.
We are not supposed to judge one another yet and still we have the American Idol syndrome of wanting to comment from the sideline, while maintaining the secrecy of hiding behind the crowd’s feelings! Man up people if you aren’t a part of helping, come out and use your hate! Follow the crowd! When it comes your time to be judged see how much of the crowd is there with you! Will you be looking to God then, or will you depend on the mob who turned you loose?
"On a personal note, I probably will never be able to erase the memories of the post-game events of that day. Given this, I do not expect to be given a second chance to be a positive and responsible member of the football program and of this community," Blount said in the letter to the editor.
"Going forward, what I hope for is the opportunity to show that I am able to earn a second chance as a University student. And if I am so fortunate, I believe that I also will demonstrate that I am a better man and a better human being for having lived through this unfortunate experience."
LeGarrette I pray that you have learned from your mistakes and you go on to prosper in everything you do. The mob will always be the mob, and God will always forgive, people who’s side are you on?
